To me, summer is a time of fun, creativity, and reflection. This summer, in particular, is also one of a countdown: I have two months left until back to work. Yes, I know--for many of you, that's more time you'll get off in the next few years. What can I say? If you're really jealous, come on over to the teaching side. We need all the help we can get.
A central theme of 2023 (for me, at least) is intention. It's so freaking hard to be intentional. I can say I'm going to do something, have a multitude of lists and creative ideas, but then when it comes time for application, my brain gets foggy and I forget everything I want or desire to do. Hence, this is why intentionality is my theme. I even have a quote I write down for each of my week's to-do's: "Being intentional means acting with intentionality." Brilliant, huh?
Okay, so after a VERY inspiring trip to see some of my favorite people (see "Summer Concert Series: Cincinnati"--forthcoming next week), the idea was born to continue to blog about my summer trips, since either one of two things is going on: 1) I am acting out my New Year's resolution and systematically (and intentionally) seeing each and every one of my favorite people, or 2) I am going to die soon, and my soul knows this so is trying to see everyone I love. Okay, that's very dramatic, and my summer concert series is probably not an either-or fallacy. If it is, let's hope for #1. 😉
So there you go. This is a promotional blog entry about my summer concert series. I hope to highlight the good times I have with my favorite people and reflect upon what I took away from it. Thanks for reading along!
